After months of anticipation and planning, our annual user conference, BOARDVille, arrives in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 14. The event will bring together members of the BOARD user community for three days of insightful keynotes, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities relating to the BOARD Decision-Making Platform.
Sponsored by EY, Microsoft, Corporate Renaissance Group, and Neubrain, this year’s conference promises to deliver more attendees, exciting new guest speakers, and greater opportunities for learning. Here’s what to expect throughout the course of the event.
After checking in to the SLS Hotel and dropping off their luggage, all attendees, guest speakers, and employees will come together for a welcome reception at the hotel’s Sayers Club. There will be food, drinks, and a not-to-be-missed show to kick the conference off with a bang. This is the perfect opportunity to start networking with fellow delegates and prepare yourselves for the activities to come.
Following breakfast in the hotel, Giovanni Grossi, CEO of BOARD International and Gareth Giles Knopp, Managing Director Americas, will begin the conference with a welcome presentation, setting the tone for what’s to come. This will be followed by the first guest keynote of the event, delivered by 13-time world chess champion, bestselling author, and AI pioneer Garry Kasparov. Garry will explore the relationship between humans and machines, and the role of AI in becoming an instrument for humans to improve business.
After a quick refreshment break and an opportunity to visit the expo area of the event, guests will return to the main auditorium to hear two first-hand experiences from BOARD customers on how they have utilized the platform to transform key processes. Eversource Energy will discuss how BOARD is being used to power financial decision-making, while H&M will show how BOARD has enabled an evolution of staff planning within the business.
Technology Sponsor Microsoft will then deliver a session on the integrity and benefits of Microsoft Azure, followed by Platinum Sponsor EY, who will discuss how Zero-Based Budgeting can simplify the budgeting process.
In the afternoon sessions, following lunch, Pietro Ferrari, CTO of BOARD International, will deliver the company’s vision and roadmap, followed by a presentation of BOARD 11, the latest version of the BOARD software platform. Pietro will explain how BOARD 11 delivers greater power, simplicity, and intelligence than ever before, thanks to some revolutionary new capabilities.
A keynote covering migration from BOARD On-Premise to BOARD Cloud will follow, before the day sessions finish with a Meet the Management session, providing the opportunity for delegates to have a one-to-one Q&A with members of the senior leadership team.
An evening dinner at Beauty and Essex restaurant at The Cosmopolitan will bring the first day to a close, providing further networking opportunities and the chance to discuss the day’s activities.
Day two kicks off with a guest keynote on Artificial Intelligence for Focused Decision-Making, delivered by Robert D. Kugel from Ventana Research. Following this, Jeanette Wade, CFO at Ascentria Care Alliance, will explore how modern CFOs can leverage the power of data to drive results. BOARD partner Corporate Renaissance Group will follow, showcasing its implementation of a front-end report writing solution at BOARD customer Koppers Performance Chemicals Division, alongside Financial Operations Analyst K. Jay Garner.
After coffee, and a chance to explore more of the expo, Yana McConaty from partner Neubrain will explore the strategic budgeting process implemented with BOARD at the City of Salem, OR, alongside Budget Analyst Kali Leinenbach. The morning sessions will close with a customer panel, in which delegates will be treated to debates around numerous decision-making related topics.
Following lunch, the event switches to breakout sessions, in which delegates can choose to attend different learning sessions hosted by BOARD experts. Everything from the strategic use of BOARD to hands-on technical workshops is covered, providing an invaluable learning experience for delegates from all business departments and perspectives. Sessions include:
The breakout sessions continue until the evening dinner, which will be hosted at BOARDVille Island – the Grand Pool at the SLS Hotel.
The final day sees Gareth Giles Knopp bring the event keynotes to a close, with a summary of the key highlights of the event. The breakout tracks then continue into the early afternoon, providing the opportunity to cram in further knowledge about BOARD before guests depart.
